Our troupe began in the autumn of 2022, when Thomas Maple invited some of his fellow thespians to gather each week to play improv games. Our impassioned collaborations in a series of clandestine meetings held in the dead of night yielded a plan so fiendish that it had to be scrapped entirely. Instead, we decided to perform comedy for folks like you.
The troupe's active membership changes, with Fools rotating in, out, and in again based on their other commitments.
The CURRENT PERFORMANCE ROSTER is shown below.
Bradley Cantrell is the man, not so much a myth, but definitely a legend--at least that’s what he says. He’s a construction worker by day and by night a mediocre dad joke enthusiast. He enjoys performing improv with Tom’s Foolery Improv and volunteers his time at Auburn Area Community Theatre, whether it be Directing or Acting.
Michaela is a pediatric speech-language pathologist who combines her love of science and language with the theatrical arts in her private practice. Born and raised in Florence, Alabama, she got her start on stage with the local Shoals Community Theatre. While attending Auburn University for her Bachelor's and Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, Michaela taught various theatre classes with Auburn Area Community Theatre. She recently broke her 10-year acting hiatus with AACT and is excited to perform with this hilarious and talented improv troupe.
Ryan is a veterinary educator and neurologist at Auburn University. Following his residency in neurology and neurosurgery, he went into private practice before following his passion for teaching back into academia. He owns a consulting firm that serves populations of veterinarians and pet owners outside of the Auburn/Opelika area. Ryan's love for the theater started in high school and grew throughout college. Having stepped away from it during his training and early career years, he is excited to be back under the lights performing with Auburn ACT and Tom's Foolery.
Emily is an Auburn University graduate with a degree in Animation. Her goal is to create art that entertains, educates, and inspires people of all ages. She loves theater, reading, and her cat Cinnamon. Her love of theater led her to join Auburn Area Community Theatre for multiple productions, from playing the villain in a murder mystery to Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol. There she met and acted alongside many of her fellow members of Tom’s foolery. She is excited to be part of such a talented and hilarious group of comedians.
Jack is a local product, calling the Auburn-Opelika area home since 5 years old. An Auburn High School alum, Jack went on to receive a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Industrial Systems Engineering from Auburn University in 2019 and was a member of the AU Singers. Although you may see him in the office as a Quality Engineer during the day, you can also hear Jack on the radio as the voice of the Auburn High Basketball and Softball teams, as well as the host of an Auburn University
Football pre-game show.
Emma is a soon-to-graduate senior at Auburn University with her bachelor’s in Business Administration, along with a few minors. Soon after, Emma will go on to earn her MBA from Auburn. She has also participated in theatre at Auburn, played her debut role, Aggie Wheeler, in Auburn Area Community Theatre's production of The Game's Afoot, and will soon be working for Disney full time in September!
Michael is a full-time owner of an additive manufacturing company in Auburn founded in 2018 from his graduate research. He obtained both a Bachelor's and Master's of Science from Auburn University in Mechanical Engineering in 2019. Michael has a wealth of experience on the stage beginning with musical theatre in high school, joining the AU Singers in College, and performing roles in multiple Auburn Area Community Theatre productions in his young professional career.
Thomas is a practitioner psychologist.
He earned the Ph.D. in psychology from Auburn University and has served five universities through administrative, professional, and instructional roles. Creating art has become a great passion for him: In addition to producing Tom's Foolery, he writes scripts for stage and screen and occasionally directs play productions. He also designs and presents human resource development programs, including a workshop that uses improv games for
corporate team-building.
David Carter, Tammi Montgomery, and Miranda Silano are Fools who have performed with us in the past. We hope to have each of them perform with us again!
