Our troupe began in the autumn of 2022, when Thomas Maple invited some of his fellow thespians to gather each week to play improv games. Our impassioned collaborations in a series of clandestine meetings held in the dead of night yielded a plan so fiendish that it had to be scrapped entirely. Instead, we decided to perform comedy for folks like you.
The troupe's active membership changes, with Fools rotating in, out, and in again based upon their other commitments.
The CURRENT PERFORMANCE ROSTER is shown below.
Thomas is the founder and producer of Tom's Foolery.
A psychologist trained as a scientist and as a practitioner, he earned the Ph.D. from Auburn University and has served five universities through administrative, professional, and instructional roles. In addition to producing Tom's Foolery, Thomas writes play scripts and directs play productions. He also designs and presents human resource development programs, including a workshop that uses improv games for
corporate team-building and collaborative skill-building.
Bradley was one of the first actors to join the Tom's Foolery cast and acted in the troupe's very first performance. By day, he is the manager of a construction company and by night, he is a mediocre dad-joke enthusiast--and a dad. In addition to performing improv with Tom’s Foolery, Bradley volunteers his talents in Auburn Area Community Theatre, directing and acting. He also is a film enthusiast and maintains a breathtaking film collection in his home. He hopes to develop a career in the motion picture industry.
Michaela is a pediatric speech-language pathologist who combines her love of science and language with the theatrical arts in her private practice. Born and raised in Florence, Alabama, she debuted on stage with Shoals Community Theatre. In addition to acting and directing in AACT, she enjoys performing with this hilarious and talented Tom's Foolery troupe.
Ryan is a veterinary educator and neurologist at Auburn University. Following his residency in neurology and neurosurgery, he went into private practice before following his passion for teaching back into academia. He owns a consulting firm that serves populations of veterinarians and pet owners outside of the Auburn/Opelika area. Ryan's love for the theater started in high school and grew throughout college. He is excited to be back under the lights performing with Auburn ACT and Tom's Foolery.
Emily is an Auburn University graduate with a degree in Animation. Her goal is to create art that entertains, educates, and inspires people of all ages. She loves theater, reading, and her cat Cinnamon. Emily's love of theater led her to join Auburn Area Community Theatre for multiple productions, from playing the villain in a murder mystery to Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol. There, she met and acted alongside many of her fellow members of Tom’s Foolery. She is excited to be part of such a talented and hilarious group of comedians.
Jack is a local product, calling the Auburn-Opelika area home since 5 years old. An Auburn High School alum, he went on to receive a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Industrial Systems Engineering from Auburn University in 2019 and was a member of the AU Singers. Although you may see Jack in the office as a Quality Engineer during the day, you can also hear him on the radio as the voice of the Auburn High Basketball and Softball teams, as well as the host of an Auburn University
Football pre-game show.
Emma is a senior at Auburn University, where she is earning the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, along with a few minors. She hopes to earn a Master of Business Administration degree from Auburn, as well. In addition to having a mind for entrepreneurship, Emma also has a mind for art. Before joining Tom's Foolery, she participated in theatre at Auburn University and made her stage debut in 2024 in the role of Aggie Wheeler in Auburn Area Community Theatre's production of The Game's Afoot.
Michael is the full-time manager and owner of an additive manufacturing company in Auburn founded in 2018 from his graduate research. He obtained both the Bachelor of Science degree and the Master of Science degree from Auburn University in Mechanical Engineering in 2019.
